Since I can never seem to concentrate on one figure at a time and always seem to be working on at least….um… 8 at a time. I figured (no pun intended) that I would throw another one into the mix. And speaking of mix, did you know that if you start testing various parts of Figuarts together, you can come up with a combination that decides for you what your next custom Dairanger S.H.Figuarts is going to be. So, here it is; the very start of my next custom.
On a side note, please for give the appearance of Ryuuranger’s head. The one that actually goes to this figure is mid-way through the painting process.

No longer a mock-up, I started working on Go-on Red… since apparently I have the attention span of a SQUIRREL!… um… Added the black line around Gosei Red symbol but still have to paint the helmet… I’ve really been slacking on painting helmets. >.<

Stuck at home today so I didn’t get much done but I thought I would play around with the figure stuff I had here and do some tests and comparisons.

First, I put a Yellow Owl helmet on Red Hawk and then did a piss poor super fast photoshop job (so embarrassing especially since I’m a graphic designer by day, and the lazy guy in me just said F!@# it, 10 second job later)

Second, a comparison of the Red Buster vinyl head to the original Figuarts one.

Third, a test fitting of Magishine parts I’m working on.

Finally a photo of the many helmets I have and more are on the way. >.<

More WIP photos. You can pretty much call this one finished but I still have to repaint the helmet and attach the badge permanently.

Ryuuranger seems to be coming along just fine as a custom S.H.Figuarts goes. Still need to finish painting the shoulders, repaint the helmet, and add a little detail to the belt emblem.

More custom S.H.Figuarts, as promised. Nearly complete Gosei Red. Still need to attach the collar to the chest and paint the helmet. Along with a close up shot of the chest. Not quite perfect but it will do. Still trying to decide if I want to do the outline of the emblem because this thing was a pain to paint. Luckily, the entire thing fit on the chest without having to add part of the ‘wings’ to the shoulder pieces.

Also included, a little WIP shot of Ryuuranger from Dairanger. You may notice the legs were not completely reattached in this photo. It’s a WIP, what do you expect? >.<

So I finally decided on Dairanger as the next team of figuarts I make. With the word around town that Kibaranger will be in season 2 of Akibaranger, the possibility of a Kibaranger figuarts seems plausible so why not make a team to go with him.

Here you can see the previously shown Ryuuranger helmet on a Deka Red body with Shinken Red forearms and Bouken Red wrists and hands. The figure already has his left forearm modified with the Dairanger cuff, the Dairanger belt emblem, and Dairanger badge on his chest. Since this photo was taken, I’ve already done the right forearm and are working on the boot cuffs.

For the Goseiger fans out there, here is another WIP shot of the Gosei Red figure. While I already have the actual chest and shoulders I’m using painted in red, they are still masked up for painting so I did the next best thing and slapped it on the torso I’m using for the Go-on Red, which is hasn’t been worked on yet. Also the belt is mostly put together but needs to be painted and… I need to repaint the helmet… maybe.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything about my progress but progress is happening, regardless. In the mean while, I decided to post a few more test shots of different heads on some Figuarts to see how successful they would be for custom figuarts. What do you think?

And these are just a few of the many helmets I have set aside waiting to be figur-ized.
