Recently, I stumbled across some parts I never knew existed and bought them immediately. This is the beginnings of the aftermath of that purchase. I believe if I can get Dekamaster and Wolzard done at roughly the same time, then I am absolutely going to reenact their only meeting ever (Dekaranger VS Magiranger special)… in animated gif format.
I know I haven’t posted in the past few weeks but, in the midst if making Go-on Red and finishing my Kibaranger, I got a wild hair to make one of my personal favorites since I lucked into most of the parts I was looking for to make him.
However, until he’s a bit further along, I’ll just leave you with this preview.
As you can see, I have most of the right arm where I want it. Soooooo much left to do.
A quick photo of a current WIP. I know Bandai is coming out with one but I had already started on this one. Still need to paint the helmet and add detail lines to the belt and also get the other elbows I had prepped for this particular figure. The ones in the photo are just some I painted up quickly and not very durable.
So Tamashii Nation’s in Japan just showed this commercial that had official S.H.Figuarts of the following:
- Complete Zyuranger team
- Complete Jetman team
- Bouken Black and Bouken Blue
- Season 2 Akibarangers
- HurricanRed
- Ryuuranger
- Kibaranger
Ok, I did Ryuuranger, and started Kibaranger… hmmmmm should I stop Kibaranger and move on to other new figures? Or go ahead and finish him… opinions?
Since I can never seem to concentrate on one figure at a time and always seem to be working on at least….um… 8 at a time. I figured (no pun intended) that I would throw another one into the mix. And speaking of mix, did you know that if you start testing various parts of Figuarts together, you can come up with a combination that decides for you what your next custom Dairanger S.H.Figuarts is going to be. So, here it is; the very start of my next custom.
On a side note, please for give the appearance of Ryuuranger’s head. The one that actually goes to this figure is mid-way through the painting process.
No longer a mock-up, I started working on Go-on Red… since apparently I have the attention span of a SQUIRREL!… um… Added the black line around Gosei Red symbol but still have to paint the helmet… I’ve really been slacking on painting helmets. >.<
Stuck at home today so I didn’t get much done but I thought I would play around with the figure stuff I had here and do some tests and comparisons.
First, I put a Yellow Owl helmet on Red Hawk and then did a piss poor super fast photoshop job (so embarrassing especially since I’m a graphic designer by day, and the lazy guy in me just said F!@# it, 10 second job later)
Second, a comparison of the Red Buster vinyl head to the original Figuarts one.
Third, a test fitting of Magishine parts I’m working on.
Finally a photo of the many helmets I have and more are on the way. >.<
More WIP photos. You can pretty much call this one finished but I still have to repaint the helmet and attach the badge permanently.
I get most of my heads from either Yahoo! Japan auctions, eBay, or other people that just happen to have the figure I need. Sadly there is no single one-stop-shop for the parts I need to make customs or I’d be their best costumer.
